Getting Plugged in to UK’s Campus

Step One:  Figure out why everyone around here talks about getting involved.

Answer: That’s an easy one!  Getting involved on UK’s campus can help to enhance your UK experience.  We, as a campus, value the relationship between what happens inside and outside the classroom.  Finding an organization that you’re passionate about will help you to develop a skill set that can’t be beat.  Developing your own style of leadership is found in each opportunity you create at UK.

Step Two:  UK is a huge campus—how do I figure out what opportunities are out there for me?

Answer:  The Center for Student Involvement (CSI) is a great resource to begin to understand all the involvement opportunities for students.  Browse this website further to research the different aspects of student life that are a part of our culture here at UK.  Another great resource—the Peer Resource Team (PRT).  Make a meeting with a PRT member to begin to figure out what student organization or involvement opportunity will be the best fit for you!

Step Three:  So, I’ve got an organization I want to join, but now what?

Answer: It takes courage to venture out and try new things—we know that.  The best way to become a member of an organization is to jump right in.  Our website has meeting times for many of our organizations, as well as contact info for student leaders.  Feel free to attend an organizational meeting or set-up a one-on-one conversation with the organization’s leadership.  UK is a welcoming place and we all feel strongly about helping to get our students plugged into a passion.

Our staff and students are committed to helping any UK student find their place on-campus.  Whatever we can do to help you with your involvement journey, let us know.
